Safeguarding Guidelines for Customers & Housekeepers         

The government is in support of cleaning services to continue in an effort to reduce the spread of the coronavirus. 

We have adhered to the government's guidance and adapted our operations to include all precautionary measures.  We are also asking our housekeepers and customers to take all reasonable steps to maintain the required social distance during cleaning operations.  Cleans will be rescheduled in the event of a customer or a housekeeper being advised to self-isolate or presenting with coronavirus symptoms. 

Guidelines for Customers        
Customers should:

1. – Either reschedule their cleans or pause the bookings if they or anyone in their household has been advised to self-isolate, or is presenting with coronavirus symptoms;
2. – Remain in another room while the housekeeper is cleaning and must maintain the required social distance at all times.  Maintaining the required social distance is particularly pertinent if anyone in the home is clinically vulnerable;
3. – Minimize their movement through the house while the housekeeper is cleaning;
4. – Leave the internal doors open.  This will reduce the housekeeper’s contact with any door handles;
5. – Open the windows before and during the cleaning to improve ventilation;
6. – Wash cleaning cloths and mop covers after every use.  This equipment should be washed at high temperature (60 degrees Celsius +)
7. – Wash their hands both before and after handling any cleaning products and equipment;
8. – If there has been a known or suspected case of coronavirus contamination within the customer’s household, the customer should book a deep clean and inform us of the contamination.

Guidelines for Housekeepers       

Housekeepers should:

1. – NOT attend cleans if they, or anyone in their household, has been advised to self-isolate, or is presenting with coronavirus symptoms;
2. – Where possible avoid public transport.  If public transport is to be used, the housekeeper should use a face covering;
3. – Be extra vigilant in observing social distancing if anyone in their household is clinically vulnerable;
4. – Thoroughly wash their hands as per the guidelines provided, i.e., for 20 seconds or more with soap and warm water.  The housekeeper should wash their hands before and after their cleans, including before and after handling cleaning products and equipment;
5. – Carry hand sanitiser with them at all times.  If there are no handwashing facilities available, use the hand sanitiser;
6. – Either remove their shoes before entering the premises or wear disposable shoe covers;
7. – Use disposable or machine-washable gloves;
8. – Open the windows, if possible and remember to close/lock after the clean;
9. – Minimise their movement through the premises, including corridors and stairs, insofar as this is possible;
10. – When mopping floors and cleaning any surfaces, maximise the effectiveness of cleaning products by using warm water;
11. – Pay particular attention to high-contact surfaces.  These include cupboard and door handles, light switches and sockets, tabletops, desktops and countertops, TV remotes, etc.  These surfaces should be cleaned first then disinfected with a suitable disinfectant like Dettol or other certified EN 1276 and EN 14476 virucidal disinfectant;
12. – Avoid shaking out dirty linen, clothes, and soft furnishings (e.g., cushions, rugs, bathmats)
13. – Wash cleaning cloths and mops after every use.  This equipment should be washed at a high temperature (60 degrees Celsius +)
14. – Correctly dispose of any disposable gloves, shoe covering and masks and then wash your hands thoroughly with soapy water for 20 seconds or more.
